SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Integrity/Columbia Music singer/songwriter and worship leader Lincoln Brewster celebrated Easter by leading worship for more than 17,000 attending a special service held at Sacramento’s Power Balance Pavilion, home to the Sacramento Kings. The Easter service was an outreach of Sacramento-based Bayside Church Granite Bay Campus.

“Typically on Easter we as the church are good on celebration but not so good on compassion,” said Ray Johnston, senior pastor, Bayside Church. “We looked at this as an opportunity to do both well,” added Brewster, who also serves as Worship Arts Pastor, Bayside Church. “It was really incredible—we couldn’t believe how many people actually showed up.”

In addition to a message from Johnston and music led by Brewster, the service included a special appearance by Louie Zamperini, 94-year old World War II airman and prisoner of war, and Olympic athlete. Zamperini, whose life story is documented in the recent best-selling book, “Unbroken,” by Laura Hillenbrand, was presented with an honorary degree from Azusa Pacific University. Also during the service, funds were raised for various area charities.

A Dove Award-nominated worship leader, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Brewster’s seventh solo recording, Real Life, debuted at #1 on Nielsen SoundScan’s Praise & Worship Albums chart and at #3 on Billboard’s Christian Albums chart, following its release last fall. In addition to his solo performances, Brewster serves as a worship seminar and workshop leader around the country.
